Bearkats 28th in Collegiate Baseball Poll

By  |

Sam Houston State is one of three teams to jump into the NCAA Division I top 30 in the Collegiate Baseball Newpaper's weekly rankings.

The Bearkats have won nine straight games and lead the Southland Conference with a 15-6 record. The team has racked up back-to-back weekend series sweeps and midweek wins over Texas-Arlington and Texas-San Antonio.

The poll is headlined by Vanderbilt, North Carolina, and LSU who have each already tallied over 40 wins. Other new teams in the top 30 are Troy and Kansas State.

Sam Houston has two conference series remaining, this weekend at Southeastern Louisiana and the following weekend at home against Central Arkansas.

Last season was the first time the Bearkats were ranked in all four major college baseball polls.
