Sam Houston State baseball hosts McNeese State for a three-game series at Don Sanders Stadium. The weekend series starts Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The Bearkats (16-12, 4-2) are fresh off of their fourth win over a ranked opponent this season. SHSU beat No. 19 Houston 4-1 on the road Wednesday. The Kats have won both of their league series to start the year.

The Cowboys (17-10, 5-1) swept Northwestern State last weekend to move into second place in the Southland standings after two weeks of league play. Louisiana-Lafayette snapped McNeese’s four game winning streak with an 8-5 win Tuesday.

“McNeese has played well in the first two weekends,” said Bearkat coach David Pierce. “They’ve definitely got confidence coming in after playing well.”
