BRENHAM, Texas -- Blinn College women’s basketball coach Jeff Jenkins has long said that sophomore post Fatima Adams is the one of the best offensive players he’s coached in his 14-year career.
Last week, Adams proved just how dominant she can be. A Rudder High School product, Adams was named the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 2-8.
Through three games, she averaged 30.0 points, 12.6 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. She’s a big reason why the Buccaneers are 10-2 on the season and the winners of eight straight heading into tonight’s game against Temple College.
On the season, the sophomore is averaging 23.0 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
The Bucs play their final game of 2013 Saturday on the road with at 2 p.m. against Cisco. They will resume the season Jan. 8 when they travel to Athens to face No. 1-ranked Trinity Valley at 5:30 p.m.
