On this cloudy Tuesday night, the Bombers got off to slow start against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The Bombers struggled with hitting as they only had two hits after the fifth inning. Similarly, the Cutters faced the same struggle as the Bombers, having only four hits at the end of the fifth as well.
Moreover, both teams struggled to score for the first six innings. However, at the top of the seventh, Hunter Melton hit a home run scoring the first point for the Bombers. The Bombers were able to pull together and pick up the pace in the ninth inning starting off with Horacio Correa who hit a single to advance to first. Correa went on to score, furthering the Bomber's lead to two. Hunter Melton and Blake Kopetsky both hit singles and Melton once again was able to score. Shay Maltese was able to strikeout the Cutters' Nathan Pugh to clutch the win for the Bombers. The Bombers defeated the Cutters 3-0.
Pitcher Jason Gareri owned the mound tonight with five strikeouts, five hits and two walks. Shay Maltese took over the mound for the Bombers in the eighth inning and ended the game with two strikeouts, no hits, and one walk.
