Bryan-College Station, TX (July 20, 2013)- The Woodlands Strykers keep their hot streak alive with thundering bats and steady compsure.
The Bombers struggled early on due to a couple of fielding errors and extra base hits by Kevin Santana and Brian Smith of the Woodlands Strykers to make the lead 4-0 after one inning of play. The Bombers would slowly cut the lead down with a RBI single by Patrick McClendon and a RBI fielders choice by G.R. Hinsley making the deficit 4-2 after three innings. Ford Moore collected his second hit of the night to lead off the bottom of the 5th and was brought in by Horacio Correa III, who reached base on an error.
As the Bombers looked like they were going to attempt a comeback, a two run homerun by Kevin Santana and a RBI triple by Brian Smith extended the Strykers lead 7-3 in the 6th inning. The Strykers continued to pour on more runs with two more in the top of the 7th to increase the lead 9-3. The game started to get interesting again in the bottom half of the inning as the Bombers amassed three runs on a RBI double by Patrick McClendon, a RBI single by Blake Kopetsky, and a sacrifice fly by Hunter Melton snipping the Strykers lead down to three. Two more runs were scored in the bottom of the 9th, leaving a couple of base runners on with a two out situation, but unfortunately for the Bombers, their luck ran out as the Strykers were able to keep their composure and earn the victory 9-8.
Brandon Easterling made his pitching debut for the Bombers, but got the loss after giving up 7 runs in 5.2 innings pitched. Hayden Howard pitched one inning giving up two runs, while Nick Johnson finished the game with two innings pitched.
