SEC FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Breeja Larson, Texas A&M
Jr. • Mesa, Ariz.
Larson won two individual events and swam the breast leg of the 200 medley relay team that took first during the Aggies’ dual meet versus South Carolina/North Carolina. Larson won the 100 breaststroke in 59.88 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.90, putting her first in the SEC in both events. The 200 medley relay team won in 1:40.84, a NCAA B cut time, and ranks first in the league in that category.
SEC FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
Loren Figueroa, Missouri
Jr. • Oklahoma City, Okla.
Figueroa claimed the one meter scramble at the Show-Me Showdown on Oct. 5. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native recorded a score of 288.80 in the event for top honors in the SEC. This marks the third consecutive season Figueroa claimed the one meter title at the Show-Me Showdown.

Jenn Mann, Vanderbilt
Victoria, British Columbia
Mann broke two school records versus LSU in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke. Her times in each of those events are first and third so far this season in the SEC. She broke the school record in the 200 breast by three seconds, which was previously set by Laura Dillon in 2010 (2:18.16). Mann broke Allie Voss’ 100 breast school record (1:04.11) by one second. Vanderbilt won three total races versus LSU, and two out of the three were by Mann.

Marcelo Chierighini, Auburn

2012 Olympian Marcelo Chierighini picked up where he left off in 2012, earning wins in all three events he swam in Auburn’s win over Alabama … Posted the second-best time in the country so far this year with a 44.44 in the 100 free … Went even faster in the final race of the day, clocking a 44.41 in his leadoff split of the 400 free relay … Helped 400 FR team to a win in 3:00.17 … Has nation’s third-best 50 freestyle time after a winning mark of 20.24.

Hayden Jones, Texas A&M

Jones swept the 1-meter and 3-meter boards in the Aggies’ season opening dual meet versus South Carolina and North Carolina. Jones recorded 385.70 points to win the 1-meter board and followed that up with a 418.20-point outing on the 3-meter board, putting him first in the SEC in both events.
SEC MALE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Marwan El Kamash, South Carolina
El Kamash turned in four top-five performances in South Carolina’s dual meet versus Texas A&M and North Carolina. He won the 500 free in 4:31.27, the fastest time by a freshman in the SEC (seventh overall) and eighth best in the country. El Kamash also took runner-up honors in the 1000 free with a time of 9:21.21, the second fastest mark in the SEC and seventh fastest in the country. He also swam the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay and helped the team to second-place finish in 3:02.05, the second fastest in the SEC and seventh in the country. El Kamash also placed fifth overall in the 100 free in 46.45.
