COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M women’s basketball head coach Gary Blair was honored at halftime of his alma mater’s football game on Nov. 2 against Samuell High School. Blair, class of 1963, was introduced alongside the first Dallas City Championship baseball and football teams of 1963.
Blair was recognized as the Bryan Adams’ gymnasium was named in his honor during a recognition which took place at halftime of the Bryan Adams homecoming game.
“It is a great honor to be back at Bryan Adams and to see my name on the side of the gymnasium is very special to me,” Blair said. “This honor comes with a lot of hard work from the many coaches I have worked with and the great players I have been fortunate enough to coach. It was a special moment to walk out on the field with seven of my teammates from the city league championship team in 1963.”
Blair and the Aggies will open their season on the road this Friday against ninth-ranked Louisville. The Aggies first appearance at home will be on Wednesday, Nov. 14, against the eighth-ranked Nittany Lions of Penn State.
