Seguin, TX The girls of Bryan National continue to dominate at the Texas East State tournament. Their post-season record climbs to 8-0 as they contend for the Texas East title and a bid to the Southwest Regional.
National brought their A-game Saturday night when they pounced on Bridge City with a 9-0 victory. Stellar pitching continues to keep their opponent off balance as National also defeated Seguin 2-0 on Sunday.
Jessica Adams threw a no-hitter Sunday and struck out 13 batters in two days, while Kylie Hernandez gave out three K's Saturday. Adams led the offense, scoring both National runs Sunday night, including a solo home run.
Jacquelyn Adams, Lexi Clay, Gracie Mechacha, and Paige Oedenbach each had a pair of hits; while Jessica Adams, Caitlyn Dietart, Gabby Garcia and Kylie Hernandez each had one.
First baseman Jacquelyn Adams, second baseman Clay, and shortstop Dietert contributed solid defensive plays to back up their pitching staff.
Bryan National will play Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the winner of the Seguin-Huffman game Monday night.
