Bastrop, TX The 9 and 10 year-old softball team from Bryan National remains undefeated in post-season play as they win the Senior Minor Girls Section 1 tournament. National is currently 6-0 and will be one of four teams in the East Texas State tournament beginning Saturday, July 20th.
Though some teams have threatened National with tough competition, National continues to conquer on the diamond. An early lead Monday night allowed National to hold their own. La Grange scored five runs after a 4-0 National lead to start off the game. National utilized a walk and a pass ball to move catcher Gracie Menchaca into scoring positon. Menchaca later scored to break the 5-5 tie and ultimately score the winning run.
The Bryan National softball team will be at the Bryan Kroger tonight at 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for their trip to state. National's first game at the state tournament will be at 6 p.m. Saturday against Bridge City in Seguin, TX.
