Bryan Softball Takes First Two Games in Southlake Carroll

SOUTHLAKE CARROLL, Texas -- The Bryan Vikings got off to a hot start at the Southlake Carroll tournament Thursday in Dallas.

Game 1

Rachel Ullmann got the win against Trinity, bumping up her record to 2-1. Offensively for the Vikes, Courtney Meier led the way going 4 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs and scoring a run. Saleen Quinonez went 2 for 2 scoring a run. Erica Russell went 2 for 4 with a triple, scoring twice, and driving in two runs.

Russell becomes the 5th Lady Viking in school history to record 100+ runs in a career.

Game 2

Rebecca Peirce got the win in game 2 and is now 5-1 this season when in the circle.

Audriana Andrade and Desiray Sauseda led the way offensively. Andrade went 3 for 4, scratched a run, and smashed two doubles. Sauseda went 2 for 4, hitting her first career homerun, driving in 3 RBIs, and scoring two runs herself. Madison Goolsby was 2 for 3 at the plate with a run and an RBI; while Nikki Smith went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs.

The Lady Vikes improve to 7-2 on the season. Bryan continues play at the Southlake Carroll tournament Friday, playing Keller Central at noon and Weatherford at 2 p.m.
