BRYAN, TX -- The Bryan Vikings celebrated senior night on Tuesday and honored six seniors on the team following their match with The Woodlands at Viking Gym. Unfortunately the Big Blue did not upset the first place team in 14-5A suffering a straight sets sweep against the Highlanders 13 - 25, 9 - 25, 14 - 25.
Reagan Boenker led the Vikings with 12 kills and 9 digs. Jessica Pfeffer had 8 kills and 7 digs. Brittany Little had 10 digs, and Abby Cullen had 18 assists. The junior varsity team lost 7-25, 10-25, the freshman A team lost 17-25, 19-25, and the freshman B team lost 6-25, 10-25. Bryan's record is 3-7 in district, 16-16 overall. Bryan's final match is Tuesday at College Park.
In Magnolia, Rudder (18-20,4-9) lost to 20th ranked and 18-4A, leader Magnolia (14-0). Scores were 25-20, 25-9, 25-9. Ashley Miller had 7 kills. Madison Smith had 13 digs and 4 aces. Ashley Atkins had 10 digs. Rudder JV lost 25-10, 25-15 Rudder Fish lost 25-16, 25-7. Rudder will travel to Brenham on Friday.
