COLLEGE STATION -- Caldwell scored two runs in the top of the 7th to tie College Station in a playoff for the District 18-3A championship, then scored twice in the 11th to beat the Cougars 4-2.
Dylan Drgac drove in Jake Payonk and Tanner Luna in the top of the 7th to keep the Hornets alive. The in the 11th Jacob Kovar had an RBI single to plate C.J. Bills with what proved to be the winning run.
College Station had taken a 1-0 lead in the 4th when Ryan Johnson scored from third on a passed ball, and went up 2-0 in the 6th when Baylor Rowlett's sac fly got Walker Davis in from third.
Caldwell pitcher Blaine Suehs and College Station starter MacGregor Hines were on their game, as Suehs struck out 13 and allowed only three hits and Hines gave up just four.
Both teams are still headed to the playoffs. The Hornets get a bye in the playoffs. The Cougars will face the third place team from District 17.
