BRENHAM, Texas -- The College Station Lady Cougars brought home the Consolation Championship in the Blue Bell Invitational in Brenham. The Cougars opened the day with a 5-0 rout of St. Michael's. While the first half was scoreless, College Station exploded in the second half with two goals by Jaylen Hinckley, and one each from Kinsey Rhome, Courtney McGrew and Maddie Kothmann. In the consolation championship game, the Lady Cougars met Huntsville. Both teams had several opportunities to score in regulation, but were unable to do so. In the tie breaking shootout, College Station edges the Hornets 4-3 with goals from Hinckley, McGrew, Emily Guerrieri and Haley Wagner. Christina Hendershot was in goal for both shutouts. The Cougars travel to Argyle next weekend for another tournament opening with Gainesville on Thursday night at 4 pm.
