COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The College Station Lady Cougars defeated the Rudder Rangers tonight 3-0 at Cougar Field to stay perfect in district play. Kinsey Rhome opened the scoring off an assist from Lauren Spohn about 7 minutes into the match. The Cougs went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Fifteen minutes into the second half the Cougs were awarded a corner kick. In the ensuing melee, an own goal by the Rangers made the score 2-0 . With ten minutes remaining in the match, Jaylen Hinckley made a great run down the left flank beating two Rudder defenders before sending a cross to the far post that found the foot of Rhome for the Cougs' final goal. With the win, College Station recorded their ninth shutout of the season and improved their overall record to 11-5-1 and 2-0 in district. Next action will be Tuesday against Sealy at CSHS at 6pm.
