College Station Takes the Win to Remain in the Winner's Bracket

Bryan, TX Harvey Little League was packed with games on the night of July 1st, but the can't miss game of the week took place at 8 p.m. College Station's 11 and 12 year old boys took on the host team from Harvey, as the two undefeated teams left in their bracket. Both teams fought hard until the last pitch of the game, but College Station's early lead solidified their momentum and carried them to a 14-8 victory.

Harvey used five different pitchers throughout the game. As at team, they gave up 14 runs, 10 hits, and struck out 8 batters. Zach Parker was a utility player for Harvey and went 3 for 4 on the night; with 2 doubles, a single, and 3 scored runs. Michael Barber also scored 3 runs, and Kolby Dupont scored twice.

Seven members of the College Station team scored at least once, with Barfield scoring 3 runs, and Buche and Bellows each scoring twice. Zach Williams stayed hot and went 4 for 5 with a homerun, 2 doubles and a single; scoring three times.

Brandon Williams was the winning pitcher for College Station, recording at least one strikeout each inning he pitched. He gave up three runs early, but settled in to bring home the win.

College Station plays again Wednesday, July 3rd at 7 pm against the winner of the Harvey vs. National game tonight at 7 pm.
