Consol Faces Carroll Friday At State Baseball Tournament

BRYAN, TX -- The A&M Consolidated baseball team will face Corpus Christi Carroll Friday afternoon at 3:00pm at Dell Diamond in Round Rock at the Class 5A State Tournament. It will be the Tigers first appearance in the State Tournament since 1990 and second in school history. Consol is 28 and 11 on the season.

Carrol is making their third straight appearance in the State Tournament and seventh overall. The Tigers are 32 and 4 on the season. Carroll senior Courtney Hawkins was the 13th overall pick in the 2012 Major league baseball draft. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox. Hawkins is an outfielder and pitcher for Carroll.

The winner of the A&M Consolidated vs Carroll game will face the winner of the Arlington Martin vs Houston Cypress Ranch game for the 5A State Title. That game will be played Saturday morning at 11:30 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
