Defending state champion Calvert eliminated by Douglass

FAIRFIELD, Texas -- Douglass slowed down usually fast-paced Calvert and eliminated the defending 1A Division II state champs 50-37 in the regional quarterfinals Tuesday.

A game of few whistles finished in 58 minutes from the tip to the final buzzer, and the first half only lasted 20 minutes.

The Trojans wrap up the season with a 23-7 record.

Douglass moves on to the Region IV tournament to face Menard.
