BRYAN, TX -- Friday will mark the ten year anniversary when R.C. Slocum and the Texas Aggies road the arm and legs of a freshman quarterback named Reggie McNeal and beat number one ranked Oklahoma 30-26.

The question this week is can the Aggies get another heroic performance from a Freshman quarterback and repeat the feat against Alabama.

While ten years has passed since Texas A&M's one and only win over a number 1 ranked team, it doesn't seem like it was that long ago to McNeal who is back at A&M working on finishing up his degree.

Kevin Sumlin was the Aggies offensive coordinator ten yeas ago when the Aggies knocked off the Sooners and Reggie is excited "Coach Sum" is back serving as A&M's Head Coach.

As for Saturday's game. Reggie understands why the Aggies are the underdogs, face it. every team is an underdog when squaring off against the number one team in the nation.

"You would expect it that we'd be a two touchdown underdog or something out of the norm, but the numbers and the point spread doesn't matter," said McNeal. "You still have to play 60 minutes of football and with the way our offense is rolling. The way our defense is playing. It's up in the air we have a good chance to come out this thing with a win."

Football fans in the Brazos Valley can watch and see if the Aggies repeat history Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on KBTX News 3.
