Franklin Lady Lions Make History With 88-59 Win Over Rogers

CAMERON, Texas -- The Franklin Lady Lions punched their ticket to the Class 2A Region 3 Basketball Tournament following an 88-59 win over Rogers Monday night at Yoe Gym.

Franklin had a 9 point lead in at the end of the first quarter and broke it open in the second by outscoring the Lady Eagles by 21.

Carrie Casey paced the Lady Lions with 26 points, while Reagan Blajeski had 19, Kayla Walker tossed in 17 and Shelby Mullinnix contributed 10.

Franklin will take on the winner between Garrison and Central Heights in the first half of the regional tournament in Nacogdoches at 6pm. The 8 pm game will match Tatum/Crockett winner against the Buffalo/Crawford winner. All 3 of those games are scheduled for Tuesday.
