COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Carrie Casey made quick work of Rogers Jaycie Talbot 6-1, 6-2 to claim the 2A girls tennis singles championship Tuesday morning.
"It feels pretty good," said Casey. "Especially to carry on our tradition of all of my sisters winning. I felt like I needed to win."
A Casey has won a state tennis event every year now since 2007.
Casey teamed up with her sister Kayla to win doubles titles as a freshman and sophomore, and is thrilled to have won a championship on her own as a junior. "It definitely feels a lot different being on my own because last year if one of us wasn't having a good day the other person could carry us, but it was just me so I had to be on my game."
