CALDWELL, Texas -- Last week KBTX Sports reported that Caldwell Head Football Coach Kenneth Gilchrist was leaving the Hornets field house after one season and returning to Whitney where he had coached for three seasons before coming to Caldwell, today KBTX Sports learned that Gilchrist told his coaches in Caldwell that he was leaving to return to Whitney.

Caldwell can now officially begin its search for a 4th head coach in as many years. Following an 8-2 season in 2010 Dale Williams resigned to become A&M Consolidated High School's defensive coordinator. Williams was replaced by Chance Locklear in 2011.

After a 1-9 campaign Locklear left and was replaced by Gilchrist in 2012.

The Hornets were 32-10 from 2007-2010 with three trips to the playoffs under Williams, but since his departure Caldwell has gone 2-17.
