IOLA, Texas -- The Hearne Eagles returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and posted a 43-7 win over New Waverly in the opening round of the Class 2A Division II playoffs Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.

The Eagles jump all over New Waverly in the first half as they built a 33-0 advantage. Isiah Scott picks off New Waverly's Clayton Swor which sets up a Jamarcus Johnson touchdown run for a 7-0 Hearne lead.

Johnson is on the receiving end of a Kyle Castilleja pass later on in the first quarter to increase Hearne's lead to 13-0.

Marcjavion McGrew's 57 yard touchdown run will give Hearne their 3rd touchdown of the first quarter and after a successful 2 point conversion it's 21-0.

Hearne will score on its fourth consecutive offense possession as Johnson finds the end zone for a 3rd time on the night. The 5 yarder makes it 27-0.

Hearne advances with the 43-7 win and advances to the Area Round. The Eagles will take on Hughes Springs next Friday at Abe Martin Stadium in Nacogdoches.
