Bryan, TX – The Chris ‘Hooter’ Heath Memorial Team Roping will be held Saturday, May 11th at the Brazos County Expo Complex. Books open at 9 a.m. and the roping begins at 10 a.m. The roping will be a #10, with a 6 cap, and a #13, with a 8 cap; four head for $50.
A saddle will be awarded to the high money winner of the day while buckles and breast collars will be awarded to the average winners in each roping.
A silent auction will also be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A featured item in the silent auction is a pair of tickets to the final George Strait concert in San Antonio, TX, June 1, 2013.
Chris Heath passed away in 2009 and his friends and family decided to honor his memory through a team roping and scholarship fund. The scholarship fund has awarded more than $19,000 in the past three years to deserving individuals in surrounding communities and the Madison County Fair Scholarship Fund.
Come on out to the Expo and experience the “Roping for Hoot”! Proceeds benefit the Chris Heath “MCFA Memorial” and “Roping for Hoot” scholarships. Admission is free to the public.
