Hempstead's Momon sticking with Aggies as Bobcats prepare for state title game

HEMPSTEAD, Texas -- The undefeated Hempstead Bobcats are gearing up for the Class 2A Division 1 State football Championship Thursday night against once beaten Melissa.

All State wide receiver Trent Momon is verbally commited to Texas A&M. He said he isn't changing his mind because of the recent coaching change in Aggieland.

He had visited with New A&M Head Football Coach Kevin Sumlin during the recruiting process before picking the Aggies and plans on remaining a part of one of A&M's best recruiting classes ever.

"I think the opportunity is gonna be good because I already met him. He had already offered me before A&M so I think it's gonna be good getting to knowing him better."
