AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Buddy Hield scored 22 points and hit 4 of Oklahoma's 13 3-pointers, tying a season-high in an 88-85 win over Texas on Saturday.
After knocking down 10 of 16 3-pointers in the first half, the Sooners (12-2, 1-0 Big 12) cooled off after halftime but were still able to win their Big 12 opener and snap an eight-game losing streak in Austin.
Javan Felix, who scored a career-high 28 points for Texas (11-3, 0-1), hit a pair of free throws after Isaiah Cousins was ejected with 2:20 remaining to tie the game at 78. Jordan Woodward answered with four straight points.
With Oklahoma leading 88-85, Woodward missed two free throws with 15 seconds left to give Texas a chance to tie the game. But a potentially game-tying 3-pointer by Damarcus Croaker, who set a career high with 15 points, was off the mark.
