STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State says its cornerback and kick-returner Justin Gilbert has been named to the preseason watch list for the Paul Hornung Award.
The award from the Louisville Sports Commission recognizes versatility on the football field.
The list was compiled by college football experts based on a combination of 2012 statistics, career performance and expectations heading into the 2013 season.
Gilbert has five career kickoff returns for touchdowns - an Oklahoma State record and tied for the Big 12 record. He has started in 26 consecutive games.
Oklahoma State opens the season Aug. 31 in Houston against Mississippi State.
