Indiana Pacers give Aggie Donald Sloan multiyear contract

Donald Sloan, who split time last season between the New Orleans Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers, has reached agreement on a multiyear contract with the Indiana Pacers, a source close to the negotiations told USA TODAY Sports.

The 6-3, 191-pound former Texas A&M star is expected to serve as the team's third-string point guard behind returning starter George Hill and C.J. Watson, who agreed to terms with the Indiana Pacers earlier this week after playing for the Brooklyn Nets last season. Sloan also can play shooting guard.

Sloan averaged 4.7 points, 2.6 assists and 16.6 minutes in 56 games career games. He entered the league with the Atlanta Hawks in 2011 as an undrafted free agent. He also has played extensively in the NBA Development League and will play for the Pacers' summer league team.
