Johnny Manziel Makes Lasting Impression On Will Whitaker

BRYAN, Texas -- Texas A&M Heisman Trophy Winner Johnny Manziel continues to be honored for his and the Aggie football team's accomplishments last season. Wednesday Johnny was in Austin being recognized by the State Legislature as the first redshirt freshman quarterback to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy.

During his time on the floor of the State Legislature a young page named Will Whitaker, a huge Aggie football fan, ask to get his picture taken with Johnny Football. Manziel couldn't deny the young fan a picture and made a lasting memory for Will.

Attached his mother's blog on how that memorable photo came to be.

Now former Texas A&M quarterback Stephen McGee knows a thing or two about being successful in the college ranks and last week KBTX Sports caught up with him. One of the things we ask the former Burnet Bulldog about was his take on what Johnny Manziel was able to accomplish last season.

“I met Johnny Football and heard of the legend of him,” said McGee. “Of course he’s from the hill country near my home (Burnet) and heard all about him and I was like, didn’t really give him a chance and here he comes out of nowhere and he’s incredible. The thing I’m most impressed about him is that he’s an incredible play maker, but he can make plays when it matters most and he’s a winner and that’s something you just can’t put your finger on and not many guys have and he certainly does possess. Aggies like me and you guys are blessed to watch a guy like that play.”

Johnny has certainly brought tons of awareness to Texas A&M University of late. In fact Thursday there was a story written about Texas A&M being the "Cool" University to attend in the Lone Star state.
