ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Top ranked Klein Oak got a goal with under three minutes to play in double overtime and held off A&M Consolidated 1-0 in the 5A region 2 semifinals Friday afternoon.
Head coach Stoney Pryor said, "Balls go in that way sometimes, but the girls have absolutely nothing to hand their heads about. They did an awesome job tonight. They did an awesome job through the playoffs. They've been a tremendous group all throughout the season to coach and to work with and to compete with. I'm very very proud of them and the fact that we didn't come away with the 'W' doesn't change that one bit."
The Lady Tigers were in the regional tournament for the first time ever after beat defending state champ McKinney Boyd in the regional quarterfinals Tuesday.
A&M Consolidated wraps up the season with a record of 20-6-4.
