COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Tonight was Parents' Night, and the College Station Lady Cougars showed their appreciation by defeating Brookshire Royal 7-0 to remain undefeated in district play.

The Cougars started the scoring in the 9th minute on a nice combination when Steele Fancher found Kinsey Rhome down the right flank. Rhome delivered a cross to Emily Guerrieri who one touched a shot into the Royal goal. The second goal of the match came off an assist by Guerrieri to Lexi Bullard.

Two minutes later Bullard put in a rebound to make the score 3-0. Just before halftime, Rhome laid a ball off to Guerrieri at the top of the 18, and she fired a high shot just out of the reach of the Royal goalkeeper. In the second half, the Cougars scored 3 beautiful goals. First, Courtney McGrew's corner found Sydni Freeman who headed it in for the fifth goal of the match.

With 13 minutes to go the Cougars made it 6-0 when Lauren Spohn played a nice ball wide to B Soltis who drove the ball into the box where Haley Wagner volleyed into the goal. With 8 minutes left in the match Fancher played wide to Soltis, who this time served a ball to Rhome on the back post, who headed it in for the final goal of the match.

Goalkeeper Christina Hendershot recorded the shutout, the College Station's 13th on the year. The Cougars (18-5-1, 9-0) and Cubettes will play Friday night in Brenham with the district title on the line.
