OMAHA, NE -- Texas A&M sophomore Breeja Larson will be seeking a top two finish to punch her ticket to the 2012 London Olympics in tonight’s 100-meter breaststroke final at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will be televised on NBC at 7 pm.

Breeja is seeded a close third going into the final, but she’s behind 2008 Olympian Rebecca Soni and current 100 breast world record holder Jessica Hardy.

Larson is attempting to become just the second Aggie to make the U.S. Olympic team, joining Christine Marshall who made the 2008 US team with the 800 free relay (won the bronze medal).

During the spring, Breeja broke the NCAA record twice, and won the NCAA title in the race. While winning the NCAA crown, she also broke the American and US Open record in the 100-yard breaststroke at the short course yards distance (which is basically only contested by US collegians).

Also swimming tonight for the Aggies is sophomore Sarah Henry in the semis of the women’s 200 free.
