Leon beats Round Top-Carmine to claim 1A state volleyball title

GARLAND, Texas -- Leon swept Round Top-Carmine 25-12, 25-14, 25-12 to claim the 1A state volleyball championship Saturday at the Curtis Culwell Center.

The Lady Cougars got eight kills each from Thelma Flores and Morgan Sigford on their way to the win.

Emily Noak and Brittany Hohlt each pounded out seven kills for the Cubbettes.

Leon wraps up their state title season with record of 42-4.

Round Top-Carmine finishes 41-4.
