Local Talent Finalizes Bombers Roster

Who says you can't go home? Certainly not the Bombers! This season the Bombers are excited to welcome both a former Rudder Ranger and a future Texas A&M Aggie to their home team in the Brazos Valley.

Blake Kopetsky, a 2012 graduate of Rudder High School, has signed on as a Bomber outfielder for the 2013 season. As a freshman at Temple College, Kopetsky has proven himself in centerfield with a fielding percentage of .989. Joining Kopetsky in the outfield will be Brett Kauten, a junior out of Lubbock Christian. Kauten is currently ranked #1 in NAIA Division I in both Home Runs (with 19) and Home Runs per Game. The combination of both Kopetsky and Kauten guarantees an unrivaled force in the outfield this summer.

To handle the infield this season the Bombers have clenched multi-position player Patrick McLendon and first baseman Mitchell Price. Both players are remarkable additions as they have both previously been named as Top 1,000 prospects nationally by Perfect Game. McLendon, a sophomore, currently plays all over the diamond for the Wranglers of Cisco College but plans to transfer to Texas A&M in the fall. Price, a freshman at Baylor, started 20 games for the Bears this season and held a .979 fielding percentage. “All of these guys are outstanding players” says Bombers Head Coach Curt Dixon. “We’re confident that these four players all possess strong qualities that can lead us to the championship this season.”
