COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The No. 10 Texas A&M Men’s golf team will travel to Alpharetta, Ga., this weekend to participate in the PING/Golfweek Preview hosted by Georgia Tech.

The team is fresh off its second place finish in the Husky Invitational where the Aggies had two players place in the top ten of the tournament, with sophomore Greg Yates (Mansfield, Texas) and freshman Ben Crancer (Kirkwood, Mo.) tying for fourth place.

The three-round tournament will be start Sunday and finish Tuesday, with golfers playing 18 holes each day on the Capital City Club’s Crabapple Course.

The course is par-70, runs the length of 7,246 yards and will play host to the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Championship in the spring.

“This is a chance to see the national championship course in advance and get four rounds of golf under our belts,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “We can get a feel for the course and know what to expect in May. I think that is just a huge advantage for those who have the opportunity to do it.”

This tournament will expose the Aggies to some of the best teams in the country, several of which they will face in the Southeastern Conference as well as the national championship in May.

“The competition this week is going to be incredible,” Higgins stated. “Fourteen of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 25 and whoever wins this is going to play some great golf. We’ve got the best teams and the best players on a championship course.”

A&M will be represented by senior Cameron Peck, junior Johannes Veerman, sophomores Ty Dunlap and Greg Yates and freshman Ben Crancer.

Live scoring from the tournament will be available on GolfStat.com
