Milano gets past Weimar in Regional Semifinals

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- The Milano Eagles (26-7) have advance to the Class 1A Division 1 Region 4 Championship game after a 50-38 win over Weimar Friday afternoon at the Cougar Den at New Braunfels Canyon High School.

Milano had trouble finding their shot and trailed at the end of the first quarter 18-10, but out scored the Wildcats 17-2 to grab a 7 point halftime lead and never look back.

Dominique Messer lead the Eagles in scoring with 13. Milano will now take on the winner between Mumford and Port Aransas Saturday at 1pm in the Regional Championship game set for 1pm back at the Cougar Den at Canyon High School.

The winner advances to the UIL Boys' State Basketball Tournament next week in Austin.
