Moving A&M Football Games Away From Kyle Field "Not Likely"

Updated: Fri 2:15 PM, Aug 17, 2012

Texas A&M hasn't decided yet on specifics with the renovation of Kyle Field, but it appears one of the options may not be likely.

Thursday night on News 3 at 6, A&M President R. Bowen Loftin weighed in on the option of moving football games away from College Station during stadium renovation.

Dr. Loftin said, "We think it's not likely, that we would be closing down Kyle Field, but that's something we can't exclude completely. You're still leaving that open, the fact that there's a possibility games could be moved away? Looking at the funding of a new Kyle Field or a very largely renovated Kyle Field, there may be extra costs associated with doing it in phases between seasons, compared to doing it at one time. We have to weigh those things together."
