Navasota Lady Rattlers open season with a win

The Navasota High School girl's varsity basketball team opened the
2012-13 season with a big home win Friday night defeating Class 4A
Magnolia West 62-35.

The Rattler's used a balance scoring as three players hit for double digits. Senior guard Alexus Freeman paced all scorers with 16 while post Nesha Douglas had 11 and Tae' Lattimore chipped in 10. Denisha Ford and Lanell Hayes each had 9 points.

Freshman forward Molly Love scored 6 points in her varsity debut.
Harley White added 1 point to round out the scoring.

Navasota outrebounded the Mustangs 42-28. Chloe James pulled down 8 while Nesha Douglas grabbed 7 and Lanell Hayes and Molly Love each had 6.

The Rattlers forced 28 Magnolia West turnovers.

The Big Blue continues their season on Tuesday night when they travel
to Brenham to take on the Cubettes. The game is set for a 7:00 pm tip
off.
