Navasota Wins Pair In Rattler Shootout Thursday

NAVASOTA, TX -- The Navasota varsity girl's basketball team won both their games on the opening day of the 12th Annual RATTLER SHOOT OUT CLASSIC.

The Big Blue started the day off with a 51-29 win over Class 4A
Waller. Alexus Freeman led the way in scoring with 12 while freshman
Tashyra Banks chipped in 9 points. The Rattlers outrebounded Waller
48-29 and forced 29 Bulldog turnovers.

In the last game, Navasota hammered previously unbeaten Giddings
55-20. Again Freeman led all scorers with 11 while point guard Tae'
Lattimore scored 8 to go along with her 8 assists. Freshman forward
Molly Love added 7.

Bellville 31 Austin Crockett 29
Giddings 44 Bay City 35
Austin Crockett 47 Caldwell 29

The tournament continues on Friday. Navasota will play Caldwell at
9:00 and Bellville at 1:30
