No. 1 Navasota opens district play with shutout of Madisonville

MADISONVILLE, Texas -- Top ranked Navasota flexed their defensive muscle Friday night to win their district opener 38-0 at Madisonville.

Kadarius Baker threw a pair of touchdown passes to Austin Collins, Xavier Creeks added a 13-yard scoring run, and Derrion Randle ran one in from 56-yards out for the Rattler offensive effort tonight.

Solomon McGinty picked up a fumble forced by Jordan Birdwell and ran it back for a touchdown to add a defensive score for the Rattlers in the second quarter.

Navasota improves to 7-0, 1-0 in 18-3A play and is looking forward to their bye week.

Madisonville falls to 4-3, 0-1 and will visit Rockdale Friday.
