No. 2 Mumford Beats No. 12 Milano To Win District Title

MUMFORD, Texas -- The second ranked Mumford Mustangs claimed the District 25-1A Division 1 championship with a 75-66 win over number 12 Milano Friday night.

Mumford's Aubrey King hit two free throws with under two second left to tie the game at 63 and force overtime. Mumford outscored Milano 12-3 in the overtime to improve to 32-0 on the season.

Mumford's LaKendric Hyson led all scorers with 29 points. Dominique Messer led Milano in scoring with 20 points.

Mumford will close out the regular season February 12 against Somerville. Milano will play Iola on February 12.
