TULSA, Oklahoma -- The No. 8 Texas A&M men’s tennis team continues its road stand with a Friday night match-up against No. 32 Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
The maroon and white return to the courts after a 2-1 weekend at the ITA Indoor Team Championships in Houston. A&M registered wins over, then-ranked, No. 14 Tennessee and No. 22 Illinois to complete the best finish in tournament history for the program.
The Aggies (8-3) have three singles players and two doubles teams nationally ranked. Harrison Adams ranks 22nd, Jeremy Efferding lands at 25, while Shane Vinsant, the current SEC Player of the Week, is currently ranked 43rd. Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow are ranked at No. 3, while Efferding and Jordan Szabo are ranked No. 29.
Golden Hurricane (8-5) Senior Clifford Marsland was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, he leads the Hurricane with a 9-1 record at the No. 2 singles position and with a No. 74 singles rankings. Joining Marsland in the rankings is Japie De Klerk at 106 and doubles teams of Marsland and Dylan McCloskey at 20th with De Klerk and Alejandro Espejo claim 47th.
