BRYAN, TX -- Texas A&M and Alabama will meet for the 5th time ever on Saturday and while the teams haven't played very often the two schools have shared three head coaches in Paul "Bear" Bryant, Gene Stallings and Dennis Franchione.

These two storied programs are meeting for the first time since 1988. Texas A&M and Alabama last stepped on the field together in the infamous Hurricane Bowl at the end of the 1988 football season.

The Tide rolled that December night at Kyle Field 30-10.

Prior to that, the two squared off in Birmingham to kick off the 1985 with the Tide picking up a 23-10 win.

The first two meetings took place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. In the 1942 Classic 12 Aggie turnovers spoiled A&M's chances of winning as Alabama prevailed 29-21.

A&M would pick up their only win over the Crimson Tide in the 1968 Cotton Bowl as Gene Stallings led the Aggies to a 20-16 victory over his former head coach and Texas A&M legend Paul "Bear" Bryant.

Dennis Goehring was a famed "Junction Boy" along with Stallings under coach Bryant and knows there is a lot of excitement surrounding this game.

"Just has a lot of romance and a lot of excitement so the ballgame has a little bit more hype to it and the fact that we might have a chance to get a shot at winning is even better and more exciting," says Goehring.

Goehring will be at the game Saturday with over 20 other "Junction Boys" cheering on 'Johnny Football' and the Aggies. That story coming your way Wednesday.

Saturday's game will kickoff at 2:30pm on KBTX. Verne Lundquist will serve as the play-by-play announcer, with Gary Danielson at his side as the color analyst. The two will be joined by sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
