OKLAHOMA CITY -- Matt Oberste had a career-high four hits and slugged a home run out of Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, Jonathan Gray carried a shutout into the eighth inning and Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 8-4 Saturday night to even the Bedlam series at one game apiece.
Oberste led off the second inning with a blast that cleared a digital scoreboard beyond the stands in left field to make it 4-0 and chase Oklahoma State starter Kyle Ottoson (4-6) from the game.
Oberste also drove in a run in the fourth with one of his three singles, and he scored twice.
That was more than enough for Gray, a junior college transfer making his Bedlam debut. He allowed only four singles and didn't give up a run until the eighth, when pinch-hitter Gage Green scored on a wild pitch to cut the Cowboys' deficit to 8-1.
