STILLWATER, OK -- After helping Oral Roberts to the NCAA tournament the past 14 seasons, Rob Walton has been hired as the pitching coach at Oklahoma State.

Walton was the Golden Eagles' head coach for the past nine years and the pitching coach at ORU for five years before that. Oral Roberts won its conference title each of those seasons and qualified for the NCAA tournament, making it to the super regionals in 2006.

The 49-year-old Walton also served as coach of the U.S. national team in 2008.

Walton is a former Oklahoma State pitcher who will return to his alma mater to serve on the staff of newly hired head coach Josh Holliday.
