NAVASOTA, Texas -- The Navasota Rattler girl's varsity basketball team played like group on a mission Tuesday night as they scored early and often enroute to a 78-31 win over College Station High School. The win closes out the regular season for the Big Blue who improves to 34-3 overall and 8-2 record in District 18-AAA.
11 of the 12 players got into the scoring act. Three players scored
in double figures. Alexus Freeman 14, Tae' Lattimore with 11 and
Denisha Ford with 10. Tootie Banks and Lanell Hayes each scored 8
while Molly Love chipped in 7. Reana Mcneal had 5, Harley White 4,
Kalandrea Jefferson 4, Chloe James 4 and Nesha Douglas had 3 points.
It was also SENIOR NIGHT as the five senior players from the Class of
2013 and their families were introduced, recognized and honored in an
emotional pre game ceremony. Chloe James, Nesha Douglas, Lanell
Hayes, Tae Lattimore and Alexus Freeman played their last game in
Navasota now looks to the playoffs---their 11th straight appearance in
the State playoffs. The Rattlers will face Waco Robinson in the
Bi-District game. The date, site and time will be determined after a
meeting with officials from both schools.
