Rudder Claims 2012 Crosstown "Rib Eating" Showdown

COLLEGE STATION, TX -- The second annual Crosstown Showdown Rib Relay Race sponsored by Texas Roadhouse was won by Rudder High School Monday night.

Players and coaches from A&M Consolidated, Bryan, College Station and Rudder High Schools participated in the relay race that began with 10 players on each team and the head coach eating in the anchor position.

In the end Rudder Head Coach C.M. Pier helped his Rangers claim the rib eating championship along with the $700 dollar first prize check.

A year ago A&M Consolidated won the contest, but came in second this year. College Station High School was third with Bryan coming in fourth.

The high school football regular season gets underway Friday August 31st.
