BRYAN, Texas -- The LSU Tigers will try to make a return to Atlanta this season after missing out on the SEC Championship game in 2012. The Tigers have won 11 SEC Titles in program history.
LSU has eight offensive starters coming back including quarterback Zach Mettenberger who threw for 2,609 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. The Tiger offense will be run by new coordinator Cam Cameron this season. He spent the last five seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.
Defensively LSU has some holes to fill after losing eight starters. Defensive back Craig Loston who is one of the returning starters feels like the Tigers will still be solid on defense. "That is one thing that LSU does a great job of recruiting players that can step in and get the job done. We had young guys that played a lot last year and also had big moments in big games and we look forward to having those guys fill those positions that are vacant and help us get a win in week one over TCU."
LSU will open the 2013 season against TCU on August 31 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The Tigers will face Texas A&M on November 23 in Baton Rouge.
