BRYAN, Texas Hugh Freeze's debut season as the head coach at Ole Miss was a good one. The Rebels won seven games including beating Pitt 38-17 in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
This season Ole Miss has 21 starters back from last year's team. That experience helps the Rebels understand the challenges of playing a tough SEC schedule. A year ago Ole Miss dropped a tough game to Texas A&M 30-27. The Aggies rallied from a 10 point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Rebels despite turning the ball over six times. Ole Miss wide receiver Donte Moncrief says the Rebels are ready for the rematch on October 12. "Knowing that they are coming back to Oxford and we get a chance to play them again we have to play them hard. They are a great team and they have an offense like ours fast paced and they throw the ball a lot so it is going to be a great game and I am ready for it."
Ole Miss will open the 2013 season August 29 against Vanderbilt in Nashville.
