SHSU Women's tennis falls 4-3 to TCU

Sheridan Currie, Tanya Postnikova and Kayla Stevenson posted victories at the No. 2, 5 and 6 singles as Sam Houston State fell 4-3 in a non-conference women’s tennis dual match against No. 37 ranked TCU Sunday afternoon.

Currie defeated Gabi Barbosa 7-6 1-6 1-0 (10-7) while Postnikova topped Monika Sirilova 6-4 7-6 and Stevenson knocked off Molly Welsh 6-0 6-4.

TCU won the doubles point and took single victories at the one, three and four positions.

Millie Nichols victory at No. 4 singles was the deciding match for the top 50 ranked Horned Frogs.

Sam Houston State opens its 2013 home schedule Saturday by hosting Abilene Christian at the McAdams Tennis Center.
