The Sam Houston State women's and men's basketball Southland Conference doubleheader between the Bearkats and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has been moved from its original date Saturday, Jan. 5 to Friday, Jan. 4.
The women's game will tip off at 1 p.m. The men's contest will follow at approximately 3:30 p.m. The game is the Southland Conference opener for both teams.
The game was moved after Sam Houston secured a berth in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game in Frisco, Texas, on Jan. 5 so that Bearkat fans, alumni, students, faculty and staff would have the opportunity to attend both events.
Sam Houston State's next home basketball game will be Saturday, Dec. 29, when the Bearkat men wrap up their non-conference schedule with a 4 p.m. contest with Howard Payne.
The Bearkat women are in the midst of an extensive road swing, playing at the Long Beach Classic Thursday and Friday, Dec. 20 and 21, at UTEP on Dec. 28 and at Houston Baptist Jan. 2.
